The 2010-2011 Photo Challenge List

List will be updated periodically. Completed challenges will be noted. The number in brackets will give you the total number of photos needed to complete the challenge. If an asterisk * appears beside a challenge, it means the total number can vary but the number in brackets is the minimum number of photos you need to complete.


Timed Challenges:

  • Take a photo every week for 52 weeks with an explanation as to why you chose to use that photo for your 52 week challenge. Try to take a photo of something meaningful or something that is happening that week, to give some background. [52] - in progress

  • Colour Challenge - capture these colours separately (does not have to be entirely this colour, just focal point or main colour): green, blue, orange, red, yellow, purple, brown, pink, grey, black, white [11]
  • A day in the life of challenge - take at least 10 photos during the day following your life [10]
  • 1,000 Step Challenge - go for a walk and take a photo every 100 steps [10]
  • Food Challenge - photograph every thing you eat for a day* [5]
  • Christmas Scavenger Hunt - photograph all of these festive things to complete: Santa, christmas tree, present, lights, candy cane, ornament, bells, Christmas cookie, silver and gold, reindeer [10]
  • Photograph these fruits, individually then all together: cherries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries [5]
  • Photograph these body parts as the focus point: eye(s), mouth, hands, feet [4]
  • Shape Challenge - photograph these shapes as main focus: circle, square, triangle [3]
  • Article Challenge - photograph yourself wearing the following items (not intentionally in the same photo): scarf, sunglasses, headband, hair clip, gloves, hat [6]
  • Style Challenge - photograph yourself with (not in the same photo): pig tails, high ponytail, red lipstick, black lipstick, black eyeshadow, fake eyelashes, nail polish [7]
  • Festive Challenge - photograph yourself wearing the following on that specific holiday: red (Valentine's Day), clover (St. Patrick's Day), bunny ears (Easter), Canadian flag (Canada Day), costume (Halloween), birthday hat (birthday), Santa hat (Christmas), New Years hat/crown (New Years Eve) [8] - in progress
